We believe every mental health issue can be measured by how severe it affects one's life. For instance, some people have mild depression, while some have severe symptoms. Some children have mild ADHD, some have severe ADHD that interferes
with all aspects of their lives. Some people may have high-functioning autism, while some are lower functioning.
Our aim is to meet out clients where they are and help them get to where they want to be.
We do that by building trust with our clients through empathy, respect, and support.

I've been working with children, adolescents, and families for 20 years. As a parent myself, I'm familiar with the growing pains of raising a family. Each new day can be an adventure, whether we want it to be or not. I can assist you as you navigate the ups and downs of family life and parenting. I believe it's 'easier to build a child than to repair an adult.' Building a resilient, happy child begins at birth. Fostering resilience in your children through effective parenting is a gift they will have throughout their lives. I have experience working with school-aged children who struggle socially and academically due to ADHD, ASD, anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflicts, etc. I also have extensive experience with early childhood social-emotional development and guiding parents as they prepare their preschoolers for kindergarten. With over 15 years experience working in school settings as a special education teacher and resource specialist, I bring a unique background to my work with clients. I began practicing clinical social work in 2020, and I have used my knowledge of child development to identify the challenges that children and adolescents can face as they navigate through their school and home lives–particularly those challenges that can arise for individuals with an identified disability or mental health need. I approach each client with a strengths-based perspective, and I work with young people and their families to address expressed issues from a problem-solving approach. It isn’t that behaviors or choices are bad, it’s that they sometimes get in the way of us living the life we want to live. Working with each child, I help them identify the skills they need to build to lay the foundation for the people they want to become. In the last year I have worked as a school counselor at an elementary school, and have implemented multi-tiered systems of support to guide students through complex issues like family trauma, anxiety, and depression. It is a joy and an honor to work with young people, and I look forward to connecting with your child at Spectrums Family Services. Qualifications
