At Spectrums, we chose the name of our practice very deliberately. We believe every mental health issue can be measured
by how severe it affects one's life. Some people have severe depression, while some have mild depression. Some children
have severe ADHD that interferes with all aspects of life, while other children have mild ADHD. Some children
may have high-functioning autism, while some have low-functioning autism.

Our aim is to meet out clients where they are and help them get to where they want to be.
We do that by building trust with our clients through empathy, respect, and support.

I've been working with children, adolescents, and families for 20 years. As a parent myself, I'm familiar with the growing pains of raising a family. Each new day can be an adventure, whether we want it to be or not. I can assist you as you navigate the ups and downs of family life and parenting. I believe it's 'easier to build a child than to repair an adult.' Building a resilient, happy child begins at birth. Fostering resilience in your children through effective parenting is a gift they will have throughout their lives.

I have experience working with school-aged children who struggle socially and academically due to ADHD, ASD, anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflicts, etc. I also have extensive experience with early childhood social-emotional development and guiding parents as they prepare their preschoolers for kindergarten.

I offer clients a compassionate and safe space to explore current and past experiences and traumas that are impacting their lives. While I enjoy working with people of all ages, experiences and backgrounds, my specialty lies in teens and young adults. I have significant experience working with adolescents who have been or are currently in the foster care system, folks who have experienced intimate partner violence, and young adults who have been deeply impacted by trauma. I truly believe that everyone has the power and capacity to grow and heal.

I utilize a collaborative and empathetic approach to interacting with folks as I believe that they can greatly benefit from an authentic and trusting clinical relationship. At my core I am person-centered and strengths-based and I bring that into my work on a daily basis, as well using an attachment-based and trauma focused perspective.

I approach therapy with the strengths of the client in mind. While I recognize diagnoses as useful tools they are not at the crux of my philosophy as a therapist. I view my clients as individuals first and foremost and not as a diagnosis. As a therapist I hope my humanity is evident throughout my work with clients. Speaking of identity I am LGBTQ+ affirming, social justice aligned. I am also a part of the queer community and am nuerodivergent.

Whether you are dealing with life changes, relationship issues, depression or anxiety, tuning into your somatic experiences and working through past trauma may help you live a more fulfilling life. The best part is we don't have to delve into the past to do so. Trauma surfaces in unexpected ways in the present and that is what we will contend with in session.
